So incredibly proud to be a womxn.
A lot would say being one is a disadvantage because we get menstrual periods, we’re more so in our feelings, we’re more “sensitive”, that we always have to be on this rape schedule.
Sure periods suck, but the fact being that we can fucking hold life in our belly for 9 months blows my mind. Aside from male sea horses, no man can ever know what it’s like to carry life in you.
Yeah we get up in our feelings and we’re more “sensitive” but only because we experience emotions at a different level than men. We are sensitive because we are more attuned to our emotions.
We always have to look over our shoulders when we walk down the street, be a little more careful when we go out to drink, yeah that shit sucks. Living on a rape schedule is ass and men will truly never know what it feels like to live in caution and fear like us. But now more than ever, this sisterhood is stronger than it’s ever been. Womxn look out for each other and it really mf shows. Yeah we have to be a little more cautious when we go out, but it also teaches us to look out for one another.
I am a feminist.
Not because I hate men.
But because I love and adore my womxn.
I am a feminist because I want my little sister to know that being a womxn is a divine blessing, not an inconvenience.
I am a feminist because I want the rest of my womxn to be able to feel safe and protected when they go out.
I am a feminist because I want to be the voice for womxn who haven’t yet found theirs or are too afraid to have one.
I am a feminist, not for myself, but for all my womxn.
